Aa Vee Ja – Tripet Garielle
Reminiscent of the ‘80s Indi-pop sounds [as against the ‘10s indie-pop sounds], “Aa Vee Ja” is the second single from UK-based Asian singer Tripet Garielle’s debut album, ‘Woh Pal’. The song revolves around light mid-tempo pop with just a hint of the right hip frills that should keep listeners dancing, overlaid with keyboards as the base, courtesy of music director-cum-producer Atif Ali. It would have been wonderful listening to Tripet’s “original” voice on this track too, which certainly shows talent, as against the synthesised vocals that often pervade “Aa Vee Ja”. Nevertheless, Tripet Garielle certainly deserves all the accolades that she should receive, singing in a “language that she cannot speak”.
