Club Stamp – D-Boy featuring Abstrxx

If your career has been a person behind musical scenes – from U.K. talents to our very urban desi now, Hard Kaur – there always exists an aspirational level to break out on your own. That is precisely what D-Boy has done by turning into a solo act but, often, with a little help from his friends. On “Club Stamp”, he has shared his platform with Toronto-based Abstrxx and, together, they foist their royal funkiness with “Club Stamp”, a hands up dance hit, fitting equally well into the genres of pop and R&B. Though barely three and a half minutes in playing time, “Club Stamp” is a blast of a product containing strong elements that, hopefully, will become D-Boy’s trademarks: smooth melodies, suave rhythms, and the programmed sounds of brassy horns. “Club Stamp” is certainly worth checking out, thanks also to the marvelous guitar and bass work from Nick Childs, and will be mostly accessible to those who grew up to the disco sounds from the ’70s.
